Christian August Günther (lawyer)

Christian August Günther (born June 14, 1758 in Schönstedt near Langensalza , † July 16, 1839 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Christian August Günther completed his habilitation in 1781 as a private lecturer at the University of Leipzig .

In 1786 he became associate professor and in 1788 full professor of law at the University of Helmstedt ; one of his students was Friedrich Karl von Strombeck .

In 1804 he went to the Appellationsgericht Dresden (today: Regional Court Dresden ) and in 1815 to the Appellationsgericht Naumburg, which was renamed the Oberlandesgericht Naumburg on March 20, 1816 , so that he became a higher regional judge .

At his death he was the secret chief tribunal councilor.
