Christian Friedrich Voigt (organ builder, 1803)

Christian Friedrich Voigt (born December 4, 1803 in Oberlosa ; † August 23, 1868 in Wiesbaden-Igstadt ) was a German organ builder in the Duchy of Nassau .

Life

Christian Friedrich Voigt received his training from Bernhard Dreymann in Mainz . In 1833 he settled in Wiesbaden-Igstadt and founded his organ building workshop there. Around the middle of the 19th century, Voigt was one of the two influential organ builders in the Duchy of Nassau alongside Daniel Raßmann in Möttau . Over 50 instruments were built by his workshop between 1833 and 1868.

After his death, his son Heinrich Voigt continued the workshop.
