Christian Hanson (born March 10, 1986 in Glens Falls , New York ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Stavanger Oilers in the GET league since the 2014/15 season . His father Dave was also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Christian Hanson began his career as a hockey player with the Tri-City Storm, for which he was active from 2003 to 2005 in the junior league United States Hockey League . In the 2004/05 season he received the Curt Hammer Award as Gentleman of the Year of the league. From 2005 to 2009 the center attended the University of Notre Dame and played for their ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . With his team he won the championship of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association in 2007 and 2009 .

On March 31, 2009, Hanson signed a two-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs , for which he made his debut in the National Hockey League towards the end of the 2008/09 season . By the end of the season he scored a goal in five games and gave one template. In the following season , the American played parallel for the Maple Leafs in the NHL and for their farm team , the Toronto Marlies , in the American Hockey League .

On July 11, 2011, Hanson signed a one-year contract with the Washington Capitals .

International

For the USA , Hanson took part in the 2010 World Cup in Germany . In six games he gave an assist and received two penalty minutes.
