Christian Hochstätter (* 19th October 1963 in Augsburg ) is a former German football player and - functionary .

Athletic career

Club career

Hochstätter came across the Post SV Augsburg and FC Augsburg , with whom he age-19 as just a master of the Bavarian League 1982 in the 2. Bundesliga rise to Borussia Moenchengladbach . Until 1998 the midfielder was under contract with this club. He made 339 appearances in the Bundesliga and scored 55 goals. Hochstätter scored many of these goals after a free kick. After losing to Hannover 96 in the 1992 DFB Cup final with Borussia in 1992 , he was in the 1995 DFB Cup in the Borussia team, which won the DFB Cup 3-0 over VfL Wolfsburg .

Selection bets

In 1987 he completed two international A matches for the German national soccer team . On a South American tour he was used against Brazil and Argentina .

Functionary career

After his playing career, Hochstätter became sports director at Borussia Mönchengladbach. He held this position for six years; he resigned in April 2005. In January 2007 he became sports director at Hannover 96 as the successor to Ilja Kaenzig , whose contract was terminated in mid-November 2006. His contract ran until June 30, 2009, but was terminated in January 2009. He then worked for nine months as a player consultant for the Stars & Friends agency . After further training in the areas of sports management and financial services , he then worked for a Düsseldorf agency for asset management and management consulting as well as for an advertising agency in Cologne .

Since June 8, 2013, Hochstätter has been the sports director at VfL Bochum . There he was released on February 7, 2018.
