Christian Kitzbichler (born October 1, 1990 ) is an Austrian biathlete .

Christian Kitzbichler lives in Kössen . In 2006 he competed in several races in Obertilliach as part of the European Cup, which later became the IBU Junior Cup . It took almost four years before other international races followed. The first international championships were the 2010 Junior World Championships in Torsby , where he was 51st of the individual, 38th of the sprint and 49th of the pursuit. With Bernhard Leitinger , Albert Herzog and Michael Hörl , he missed a medal by just one place in fourth place. This was followed by participation in the junior races of the European Championships 2010 in Otepää . Kitzbichler was 24th in the individual, 14th in the sprint and 19th in the pursuit race. A year later, the Austrian took part in the Junior World Championships in Nové Město na Moravě and finished 68th in the individual, 41 in the sprint, 30 in the pursuit race and six with Lorenz Wäger , David Komatz and Bernhard Leitinger in the relay race.

In 2010 , Kitzbichler competed in Pokljuka as part of the IBU Cup in his first men's races in the performance category. In his first sprint he was 46th, in a second sprint he was 33rd and won points for the first time. It was only since the 2011/12 season that he started regularly in the second highest racing series in international biathlon. His best result so far is a 21st place in a sprint race in Ridnaun in 2011 . The first major event was the 2010 Military World Ski Championships in Brusson . Kitzbichler finished 30th in the sprint and 13th in the military patrol race. The next international championships were the 2012 European Championships in Osrblie , where he was 24th in the sprint and 22nd in the pursuit.
