Christian Krüger (born September 17, 1983 in Berlin ) is a German ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with FASS Berlin in the Regionalliga Ost since 2009 .
Career
Krüger began his career in 2000 with the Berlin Capitals , with whom he was active in the German Ice Hockey League in the 2000/01 season . Those in charge of the Capitals also put the native of Berlin on their junior team in the German junior league. Krüger played his first DEL games in the following season when, after a brief interlude with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers, he was in goal for two league games with the Capitals in the play-downs . The goalkeeper conceded an average of 5.33 goals in these two games. Then insolvency proceedings were initiated against Berlin Capitals, which thus also lost their DEL license. Christian Krüger then left the club.
In the summer of 2002, the then 18-year-old joined the EV Füssen from the Oberliga . In Füssen , too , Krüger never got beyond his role as a substitute goalkeeper. In the two years that he was under contract with the Leopards, the Berliner wore the Füssen jersey 30 times. After he was under contract the following season with both the Bietigheim Steelers and the Hamburg Freezers , Krüger moved to the Schwenninger Wild Wings for the 2005/06 season . For the Swans, the former junior international was also only a substitute goalkeeper and played 17 main round games in which he conceded 3.60 goals per game, as well as two play-off games in which he had an average of 6.31 times behind him.
This was followed by a renewed engagement with EV Füssen in the 2007/08 season , for which he was already active between 2002 and 2004, before Krüger signed a one-year contract with Rostock EC in the summer of 2008 . The now 25-year-old, who had developed into a regular goalkeeper in Rostock as before at EV Füssen , could not fulfill this contract because the management of the Hannover Scorpions signed him on December 15, 2008.
For the 2009/10 season, Christian Kruger returned to his hometown and will be up for the men's team of FASS Berlin .
International
In April 2001 Krüger was nominated for the German U18 junior national team , with which he took part in the U18 World Cup in Finland in the same year . There he was able to reach the quarter-finals with his team, where the Germans lost 7-1 to the Swiss juniors. Subsequently, with a 2-1 win against the USA, fifth place could be achieved.
