Christian Müller (born February 28, 1984 in Berlin ) is a German soccer player .

Career

Müller began his career at Tasmania Neukölln (from 2000 Tasmania Gropiusstadt ). He then played for the Hertha BSC youth team. He made his Bundesliga debut on September 11, 2004 as a substitute for the game against 1. FC Nürnberg . Two weeks later he scored his first Bundesliga goal against Hamburger SV . In the game of the German U-21 national team against Poland on November 16, 2004, Müller suffered a fractured tibia and fibula, which forced him to take a long break. After more than two years, Müller made his comeback in the Bundesliga in February 2007.

On January 24, 2008 Müller signed a contract with FC Energie Cottbus , which was not extended after the end of the 2008/09 season. He then moved to the second division TuS Koblenz . With the descent of TuS Koblenz in 2010, his two-year contract became invalid. On November 11, 2010, he signed a contract with Arminia Bielefeld . Two days later he made his debut against VfL Osnabrück . Due to the relegation of Arminia to the 3rd division, Müller did not receive a new contract and moved to Energie Cottbus for the 2011/12 season. There he signed a two-year contract. This contract was terminated in the summer break of 2012 after one year by mutual agreement.

In September 2012, Müller then signed a two-year contract with his former club Arminia Bielefeld. With Arminia, Müller won the Westphalia Cup in 2013 and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. After a season in the 2nd Bundesliga, Müller and Arminia lost the relegation against SV Darmstadt 98 and relegated to the third division again. In June 2014, Müller extended his expiring contract until June 2016. After just one year, he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. In addition, Müller scored the 1-0 winner in the last game of the season against SG Sonnenhof Großaspach and thus secured the championship for Arminia. With a total of 10 goals this season, he also set a personal record.

In mid-January 2016, Müller caused a stir because he decided against participating in the team's training camp in Turkey, which was triggered by a terrorist attack in Istanbul, out of concern for his safety. Müller then left Arminia Bielefeld in February 2016 and moved to Hungary to the first division club Vasas Budapest . In December 2016, he switched to Preußen Münster . After 5 missions for Westphalia, Müller's contract ended in June 2017. A move to the Cypriot first division club Aris Limassol then failed shortly before the contract was signed.

At the beginning of October, the regional division KFC Uerdingen announced their commitment until the end of the season. With the Uerdingen Müller became champions of the Regionalliga West and rose to the 3rd division, but his contract was not extended. In October 2018, Müller signed a contract with the Westphalian league club SC Herford . After his contract expired at the end of the season, he was initially without a club until Müller joined league rivals VfB Fichte Bielefeld in February 2020 .
