In 1753, at the age of 77, he succumbed to prolonged illness.
In addition to numerous contributions to the 1st, 2nd and 10th volume of the files of the Imperial Academy of Natural Scientists and the Wroclaw Collections, Adolphi wrote 28 small academic writings, preferably dealing with medical geography, balneology and hygiene , which are arranged according to the material in eight fascicles (Leipzig 1725–47). Adolphi was one of the first German doctors to pay attention to medical topography; he wrote about the diseases in Silesia and the health of the mountain air .
