Christian Mueller-Goldingen

Christian Mueller-Goldingen (born December 21, 1954 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German classical philologist .

He studied classical philology , philosophy and theology in Saarbrücken and Brussels and received his doctorate in Saarbrücken in 1985 with a thesis on Euripides , followed by his habilitation in 1992 with a study on Xenophon . Since 1994 he has been Professor of Classical Philology / Greek Studies at the Institute of Classical Philology at the Technical University of Dresden .

Mueller-Goldingen's main research interests are ancient tragedy, ancient philosophy, including especially Aristotle , Plato , ancient poetry, theories of poetry and ancient political philosophy, as well as philosophy of science including modern philosophy. In addition, Mueller-Goldingen works on logical empiricism ( Bertrand Russell ), Ludwig Wittgenstein and the Vienna Circle ( Rudolf Carnap ).
