Christian Rhoden (born March 27, 1974 in Duisburg ) is a former German athlete who specialized in high jump .

Athletic career

Rhoden had his first major international competition at the European Indoor Championships in Stockholm in 1996 . The following year he became German indoor champion and took tenth place at the 1997 Universiade . In 1998 he set his personal best of 2.32 in a competition in Dudelange, Luxembourg . He also took part in the European Championships in Budapest and finished eleventh. His second Universiade participation followed in 1999 in Palma . At the 2000 Summer Olympics , the reigning German runner-up was able to achieve eighth place in the high jump competition in Sydney . In 2002 he was again German indoor champion .
