Christiane König (born October 7, 1932 , actually Siglinde König , according to other information Sieglinde König ) is a German actress and dancer .

life and career

Christiane König began dance training with Lola Rogge at the age of twelve . From 1952 she was engaged as a dancer at the Stadttheater in Aachen and from 1954 at the Theater am Besenbinderhof in Hamburg . She was also seen at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg . Its director at the time, Gustaf Gründgens, advised her to take acting lessons, which König initially refused because she saw herself primarily as a dancer. However, when she was offered an acting scholarship from the theater, she accepted it. In 1954 she made her film debut in Tanz in der Sonne , which was to be followed by an appearance in the fairy tale film The Frog King that same year . At that time she was still performing under her maiden name "Siglinde König", which she shortly afterwards changed to "Christiane König".

In 1955, König played the older sister of the two leading actresses Heidi Brühl and Angelika Meissner in the extremely successful Ursula Bruns film The Girls from Immenhof . She received a three-year contract and was originally supposed to play the leading role in the feature film Liane, the girl from the jungle . However, since she refused to enter into a relationship with producer Gero Wecker , she eventually lost her contract. Although she won a work process based on this, König hardly received any role offers afterwards. It was no longer considered in the two subsequent Immenhof films, which were also produced by Wecker.

In 1960 she was still in the drama The Artificial Silk Girl and in the music film I Count My Worries Every Day . In addition, she continued to appear in the theater. She played u. a. at the Junge Theater and the Kleine Komödie in Hamburg , as well as at the Theater am Roßmarkt in Frankfurt am Main .

In 1963, King Austin married Armbrecht, whom she had met on vacation a few years earlier. She moved to live with him in Ibiza , where Armbrecht ran a hotel and gave up her acting career. Daughter Lilian emerged from the marriage, which lasted until Armbrecht's death. In the years that followed, Christiane König mainly devoted herself to renting out holiday apartments.

After the death of her husband, she sold the property and moved to Mallorca in 1993 . Today she lives there in the small holiday resort of Portals Nous under the name Christiane Armbrecht.

She only returned to the film cameras in 2016 to take on the role of grandmother in the short film Martha , directed by Florian Gottschick and made on Mallorca.
