Christina Schwarzer (born September 12, 1976 in West Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2013 to 2017 she was a member of the German Bundestag .

Life and work

Christina Schwarzer was born in 1976 in Berlin-Neukölln . From 1983 to 1989 she attended the Protestant elementary school in Mainzer Straße and then switched to the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium . She finished school in 1996 with the Abitur in the advanced courses German and geography. After graduating from high school in 1996, Schwarzer began training as a lawyer and notary assistant in Berlin-Wedding, which she successfully completed in 1999. From then on, Schwarzer worked in a medium-sized law firm in Berlin-Wedding before she started working for an international real estate consultancy on Potsdamer Platz in June 2006. Christina Schwarzer lives in Berlin-Neukölln and is Protestant .

politics

In 1996 Christina Schwarzer joined the CDU Berlin and the Junge Union joined the Neukölln district association . In the Junge Union she was a member of the district executive from 1999 to 2005 and of the state executive from 2003 to 2007. From 2003 to 2005 she was chairwoman of the Junge Union Neukölln. Schwarzer has been a member of the CDU Neukölln district executive since 2001 in various functions. In January 2015 she was elected deputy district chairwoman. Schwarzer has headed the CDU Berlin's Youth and Family Forum since 2013. From 2015 to 2019 she was a member of the regional executive committee of the CDU Berlin. She is also a member of the Media and Regulation Network, the Network for Digitization and the Federal Committee on Family, Seniors, Women and Youth of the CDU in Germany. Schwarzer is a member of the Lesbian and Gay Union Berlin and was deputy state chairman there. From 1999 to 2013, Schwarzer was a member of the district assembly of Berlin-Neukölln, among them she was parliamentary group leader from 2009 to 2013.

In 2013, Schwarzer entered the Bundestag via the Berlin state list. There she was a member of the committee for family, senior citizens, women and youth and represented the CDU / CSU parliamentary group as chairwoman. Her main topics included child and youth welfare , youth protection , the federal child and youth plan , sexual abuse , foster families, as well as school refusal and juvenile delinquency . From September 28, 2016, Christina Schwarzer was officially a member of the subcommittee “Citizenship Commitment”, which had set itself the goal of improving the legal framework for voluntary work. Schwarzer was also a member of the Digital Agenda committee . Her main areas of focus there included media literacy and digital education, protection of minors on the Internet and crime on the Internet, especially against underage victims. Schwarzer was a deputy member of the Petitions Committee and the Health Committee . She was also active as a secretary on meeting days.

In the 2017 federal election , she ran again in the Berlin-Neukölln constituency . She had to admit defeat to her rival from the SPD, Fritz Felgentreu , and could no longer enter the Bundestag via the state list.

Christina Schwarzer is a member of the Unionhilfswerk as well as of the cnetz - Verein für Netzpolitik eV and has been the deputy spokesperson there since 2015. She is a member of the board of trustees of the Müttergenesungswerk , member of the board of trustees of the Social Services Agency, member of the Friends of the Evangelical School Neukölln eV, of the Friends of Annedore-Leber Berufsbildungswerk Berlin eV, of the Friends of Britzer WeinKultur, of the Friends of the Rudow Fire Brigade eV and of German citizens Association eV
