Christoph Daxelmüller

Christoph Daxelmüller (born April 9, 1948 in Bamberg ; † November 9, 2013 in Würzburg ) was a German cultural scientist , folklorist and professor at the University of Würzburg .

Life

Christoph Daxelmüller attended the Benedictine grammar school in Ettal and studied cuneiform research , Islamic studies , Semitic studies , art history , Near Eastern archeology and prehistoric and early historical archeology at the universities of Würzburg, Rome and Munich . At the University of Würzburg, he received his PhD in folklore for a doctorate in philosophy. In 1985 he became professor of folklore at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and in 1990 professor of folklore at the University of Regensburg. From 1999 to 2012 he held the chair for European Ethnology / Folklore at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg.

He was also a member of the Science Council of the Society for the Scientific Study of Parasciences .
