Christoph Erhard Faulhaber

Christoph Erhard Faulhaber (born August 10, 1708 in Ulm ; † July 16, 1781 there ) was a German Lutheran theologian and mathematician .

Life

Christoph Erhard Faulhaber completed his studies in Jena and Wittenberg and was appointed professor of mathematics in Ulm in 1737. Two years later he became pastor in Jungingen , in 1743 a deacon for the Holy Trinity , in 1747 a preacher in Ulm Minster . In 1763 Faulhaber became professor of theology and scholarch . From 1768 he was a chairman of the Ministerium of the Evangelical Cathedral church the official title of Senior ministerii and was also a marriage judges active in Ulm.

Christoph Erhard Faulhaber died in Ulm in 1781 at the age of 72.

family

His son Albrecht Friedrich (1741–1773) was the city physician of Ulm and left at least two sons: Georg Philipp (1770–1850) was a counselor in Ulm , his younger brother Christoph Jakob Faulhaber (1772–1842) was a pharmacist and owned the Kronenapotheke in Ulm . The custom built to his specifications in 1812 cherrywood Offizin the pharmacy has been preserved and is in the permanent collection of the German Pharmacy Museum in Heidelberg shown. After the death of Christoph Jakob Faulhaber, the Kronenapotheke was continued by his nephew, the cement pioneer Gustav Leube .

Another son of Christoph Erhard Faulhaber was Elias Matthäus (1742–1794), who repeated his father's career.

His brother, Lieutenant Colonel Philipp Daniel Faulhaber (1713–1773), had Faulhaber's house built in Esslingen am Neckar . In 1770 he donated scholarships for all family members in Ulm who devoted themselves to science.
