Christoph Hartmann (oboist)

Christoph Hartmann (born February 2, 1965 in Landsberg am Lech ) is a German oboist .

Life

Hartmann began playing the oboe at the age of 13 and one year later studied as a guest student with Georg Fischer at the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg . After graduating from high school in 1984, he continued his education at the University of Music and Theater in Munich with Günther Passin, graduated with a master class diploma in oboe and chamber music , and then received a teaching position there . In 1991 he became principal oboist with the Stuttgart Philharmonic and in 1992 oboist with the Berlin Philharmonic . Since 1993 he has also been teaching at the Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic . In 1999 he and his fellow orchestra members founded the Landsberger Sommermusiken chamber music festival , from which the Ensemble Berlin emerged .

Hartmann won prizes at international competitions in Toulon , Geneva and Tokyo and with his CD recordings played a major role in the rediscovery of the compositions of the almost forgotten oboe virtuoso Antonio Pasculli (1842–1924), who was born in Palermo.

In addition to his work as an oboist, Hartmann runs his own bike shop together with Maik Kresse and developed the bike brand Pasculli . The bicycle shop is located in Berlin-Friedenau in the former production hall of the Goerz-Werke .
