Christoph von Zastrow (judge)

Christoph von Zastrow (born September 20, 1594 in Wollin ; † November 25, 1636 in Stettin ) was a German lawyer who rose to become director of the court in Pomerania-Stettin .

Life

He came from the noble Pomeranian family Zastrow . His father Christoph von Zastrow was the hereditary lord on Stregow in Western Pomerania , his mother Sophia was born Flemming from the Mokratz family. He attended school in Wollin and the pedagogy in Szczecin . He studied at the University of Greifswald from 1611 , but at least from 1614 at the University of Rostock , went to the University of Jena in 1619 and finally to the University of Wittenberg in 1620 .

After completing his studies, Duke Franz von Pommern appointed him trainee lawyer at the Szczecin court . Under Bogislaw XIV , the last Pomeranian duke, he was appointed court counselor and assessor at the court court in 1624, and also director of the Szczecin consistory in 1625 . In 1629 he finally became director of the Szczecin court and was thus also a member of the Duke's Privy Council . He was also appointed by the Duke as Vice-Dominus of the Camminer cathedral chapter and received the manors Cortentin , Dobberphul and Drammin .

Christoph von Zastrow married Hedwig von Ramin from the Stolzenburg family on January 25, 1629 in Stettin . The marriage resulted in two sons and a daughter.

He died in Stettin in 1636 and was buried in Stettin's Marienkirche . The funeral sermon given by Christian Groß has been handed down .
