Christophe Clivaz (born January 7, 1969 ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ).

Life

Christophe Clivaz attended high school in Sion and then studied political science at the Universities of Lausanne and Geneva . He received his doctorate in 2000 from the University of Lausanne on the topic of greening alpine tourism and worked as a research assistant at the research center until 2002 and then until 2008 as a professor at the Institute for Economics and Tourism at the University of Applied Sciences in Western Switzerland in Sierre . From 2008 to 2012 he was assistant professor and then until 2014 associate professor at the Institut Universitaire Kurt Bösch in Bramois and Sion. Since 2015 he has been an associate professor at the Institute for Geography and Sustainability at the University of Lausanne. Clivaz is married and has two children. He lives in manners.

Christophe Clivaz was a member of the General Council (legislative branch) from 2005 to 2008 and has been a member of the municipal council (executive branch) of Sion since 2009.

Clivaz has been a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Valais since 2013 .

In the national parliamentary elections on October 20, 2019 , Christophe Clivaz was elected to the National Council for the Greens .
