Philipp Matthias Bregy (born July 7, 1978 in Visp ; resident in Naters and Turtmann ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Bregy was born on July 7, 1978 in Visp, the son of Ursula Bregy, née Kreuzer, and Edelbert W. Bregy . Bregy is married to Nathalie Bregy-Schaller, has one son (Maximilian Luis) and is a major in the Swiss military as a specialist officer .

Bregy attended primary and secondary school in Naters from 1985 to 1993. After that he was at the college in Brig until 1998 , where he passed the Matura type C in 1998. From 1998 to 2004 he studied law at the University of Bern . In 2004 Bregy received the Master of Law from the University of Berne. In 2013 he was elected to the Naters Municipal Council and was a member of it until 2019. From 2009 to 2018 he was also a member of the Valais Grand Council . After Viola Amherd was elected to the Federal Council , he took her place in the National Council on March 4, 2019 .

On October 20, 2019 , Bregy will be re-elected as a National Councilor. He is a member of the Legal Commission (RK-N), the Commission for Transport and Telecommunications (KVF-N) and a deputy in the Immunity Commission (IK-N).
