Jean-René Fournier (born December 18, 1957 in Riddes , canton Wallis ; resident in Nendaz and Veysonnaz ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

biography

Fournier entered politics at an early age: at the age of 16 he became a member of the Junge CVP and after successfully completing his degree in business administration he also took on political offices. From 1989 to 1997 he sat on the Grand Council of the Canton of Valais. From 1997 to 2009 he was a member of the Valais State Council and from 2007 to 2019 he also represented the canton of Valais in the Council of States .

Fournier is married and has six children. He is an officer of the Swiss army in the degree of Major. In December 2011 Fournier was conditionally sentenced to 60 hours of community service for violating the hunting law.
