Thomas Egger (born August 15, 1967 in Visp ; resident in Goldach ) is a Swiss politician ( CSPO / CVP ) and director of the Swiss Working Group for Mountain Regions (SAB).

Life

Egger attended primary and secondary school in Visp and graduated from the college in Brig . He then studied geography and political science at the University of Zurich . From 1991 to 1996 Egger was an economist at ARW - Dr. Peter Furger AG and then until 2001 head of the regional office of the Swiss Working Group for Mountain Regions in Visp. In 2002 he was appointed director of SAB. When Roberto Schmidt resigned from the National Council after his election to the State Council of the Canton of Valais , Egger moved up to the National Council in June 2017 . There he was a member of the Finance Commission and the Commission for Transport and Telecommunications until he was not re-elected in 2019 .

Egger is single, lives in Visp and has the military degree of captain .
