Christopher Stephen "Chris" Copeland (born March 17, 1984 in Orange , New Jersey ) is an American basketball player .
Career
The 8-inch power forward started playing basketball in his home town at Hermitage High School . Copeland then played in the United States for the university team Colorado Buffaloes and the Fort Worth Flyers . In 2007 he moved to Europe, where he worked briefly in the second Spanish division for CB L'Hospitalet and then in the Netherlands for Matrixx Magixx Nijmegen . For the 2008/09 season Chris Copeland joined the German Bundesliga club TBB Trier , where he immediately became the top scorer. For the 2010/11 season he moved to the Belgian first division club Okapi Aalstar . There he played until 2012. He spent the summer in the NBA Summer League , where he played for the New York Knicks team . These gave Copeland a non-guaranteed contract for the 2012/2013 season after good performances. This could be dissolved again by the Knicks before the start of the season in order to reduce the squad, but this did not happen. Copeland scored his first two points in the NBA on November 4, 2012 in the New York Knicks game against the Philadelphia 76ers. His highest point total in the NBA was 33, which Copeland scored on April 17, 2013 against the Atlanta Hawks. Due to his good performance at the Knicks, other NBA teams became aware of Copeland. For the 2013/2014 season, Copeland received several contract offers and finally joined the Indiana Pacers by 2015 . After this contract expired, he moved to the Milwaukee Bucks in the summer of 2015 . He was released from his contract in February 2016.
