Ciepielów is a village in the powiat Lipski of the Masovian Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the rural community of the same name with 5543 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2019).

Ciepielów is located 35 kilometers southeast of Radom on the Iłżanka River .

history

1648 Ciepielów received from Sigismund II. August the city charter granted. Sigismund III. Wasa added the right to form guilds to the town charter in 1597 . Between 1597 and 1626, a fire destroyed the city. In 1627 the city received the right to hold markets and fairs. In 1869 the place lost its town charter.

On September 8, 1939, 250 to 300 Polish soldiers were murdered in the Ciepielów massacre not far from the village .

From 1975 to 1998 the village belonged to the Radom Voivodeship .
