history
Since the 15th century there was a free farm of the Cikán family north of Vrcov . In 1579, Emperor Rudolf II bequeathed the court of the free farmer Martin Cikán to the Lords of Rosenberg . Wilhelm von Rosenberg gave the farm together with Vrcov in 1586 to the Krumau Jesuit College, which from 1626 combined the property with the newly acquired Římov property . After the abolition of the Jesuit order , the goods fell to the religious fund in 1773. He had the farm closed in 1777 and parceled out in the course of the raabization . The Viennese road led through Cikánov from Ledenice via Vrcov to Lhota.
After the abolition of patrimonial Cikánov belonged from 1850 as part of Vrcov to the municipality Hluboká u Borovan in the district administration Budějovice / Budweis. From 1908 the settlement formed part of the Vrcov municipality. At the beginning of 1963 Cikánov was incorporated into Borovany together with Vrcov .
