The Cisne Branco ( port. Cisne Branco : white swan; NV represents navio Veleiro : Sail) is a full ship ( rahgetakelter Three Master), the Brazilian marine serves primarily for representation purposes.
The Cisne Branco was for about 15 million US dollars along the lines of clippers of the 19th century the Dutch shipyard built "ladies", ran on 4 August 1999 from the stack and was on 4 February 2000 to the Brazilian Navy to hand over. She officially began her service as Brazilian ambassador under Commander José Sadi Cantuária on March 9, 2000 - the 500th anniversary of the departure of Pedro Álvares Cabral from Lisbon on the voyage on which the Portuguese discovered Brazil for Europe on April 22, 1500 . On this occasion, the International Remembrance Regatta took place in 2000, in which the Cisne Branco took part and reached Brazil on April 30, 2000. In the same year, the Cisne Branco also took part in Operation Sail 2000.
Since then, the ship has mainly been used for representation purposes and has taken part in national and international maritime events. Today the training of seafarers only plays a secondary role. During its first year of operation, up to February 4, 2001, the ship spent 163.5 days at sea, covering 21,535 nautical miles . 272 cadets were trained and the Cisne Branco received 125,196 visitors.
