Clairette Rose

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clairette Rose is a red wine that emerged from a spontaneous mutation of the Clairette Blanche variety . It is distributed in the French departments of Gard , Aude , Hérault , Var and Vaucluse . The majority of the total of 272 hectares of vineyards (as of 2007, source ONIVINS) is found in the Lirac appellation in the Rhône wine-growing region . A white wine is made from this slightly reddish colored grape . It is difficult here that the white wine , like the Pinot Gris, is not contaminated by light color components of the skins. The grape variety is susceptible to downy mildew .
