Claude Champagne OMI (born July 22, 1947 in Lachine ) is Bishop of Edmundston .

Life

Claude Champagne joined the Order of the Oblates (OMI) , made his profession on June 18, 1975, was ordained deacon in June 1975 and ordained a priest on August 9, 1975 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Halifax and titular bishop of Sufasar on March 25, 2003 . The episcopal ordination donated him the Archbishop of Halifax, Terrence Thomas Prendergast SJ , on June 11th of the same year; Co - consecrators were Austin-Emile Burke , Senior Archbishop of Halifax, and Gilles Cazabon OMI, Bishop of Saint-Jérôme .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on 13 July 2007 for the duration of Sedisvakanz the apostolic administrator of Yarmouth and Halifax; with the appointment of Anthony Mancini Archbishop of Halifax and Administrator of Yarmouth on October 18, 2007 this appointment ended. He was named Bishop of Edmundston on January 5, 2009, and inducted into the office on March 25 of that year.
