Claudia Knauer

Claudia Knauer (born February 10, 1961 in Hattingen , Ruhr area ) is a German-Danish library director and author .

life and work

Claudia Knauer lives in Aabenraa , Denmark . From 1980 to 1982 she studied political science (major), philosophy and oriental studies at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel . From 1982 to 1983 she studied at Pennsylvania State University , State College, Pennsylvania , USA . In 1983 Knauer returned to Kiel to continue her studies, switched the minor subject Oriental Studies to Public Law and passed her master's examination in 1987. 1986-1987 was Knauer press speaker of the FDP Schleswig-Holstein , 1987-1991 speaker of the FDP in the Hamburg Parliament , 1988-1991 managing simultaneously. From 1991 to 1996 she worked as a freelance journalist , a. a. for FL-Consulting, Deutschlandfunk , Deutsche Universitätszeitung , Süddeutsche Zeitung , Die Welt and Sächsische Zeitung . From 1996 to 2015 editor since the German daily newspaper Der Nordschleswiger in Denmark, from 1998 to 2015 deputy editor-in-chief of the paper. Claudia Knauer has been the library director of the Association of German Libraries North Schleswig of the German minority in Denmark since 2015 . She has been a Danish citizen since 2011.
