Claudia Larcher (* 1979 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian visual artist and filmmaker .

life and work

Claudia Larcher studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna , first cross-media art with Bernhard Leitner from 2001 to 2005, followed by sculpture and multimedia with Erwin Wurm from 2005 to 2008. Since 2009 she has been working as a freelance artist. In 2010 Larcher received a foreign studio grant from the BMUKK in Tokyo . From 2011 to 2013 she lived in Berlin , then again in Vienna .

Larcher's focus as an artist is on video installation , collage and installation . Thematically, she often deals with spaces, both in the objective sense and with spaces of memory and imagination. Her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Austria, Germany , France , Japan and Portugal , including the Center Pompidou Paris , the Centro de Arte Moderna Lisbon , the Cité Internationale des Arts Paris , the Kunsthalle Wien and in the Lentos Art Museum Linz . She was represented at film festivals at the Diagonale , the Solothurn Film Days , the Viennale , Vienna Shorts and the Festival d'Animation Annecy , among others .
