Claudiu Suciu is a student and lives in his birthplace. He starts for CSAMB Predeal and is trained by Mihai Rădulescu . He has been practicing biathlon since 2000 and has been a member of the Romanian national team since 2002. In Ridnaun he denied in 2003 his first race in the Biathlon European Cup for Juniors. The first major event among the juniors was the 2004 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Osrblie . Suciu was 20th in the sprint, as in the mass start, and 21st in the pursuit race. In 2005 the Romanian made his debut in Oberhof in the Biathlon World Cup and was 102 in his first sprint. At the 2006 European Junior Biathlon Championships, the Romanian was 20th in the individual and 26th in the sprint, as well as in the pursuit. In 2006 he achieved his best result in the World Cup with 91st place in a sprint in Hochfilzen . In 2007 he contested his last World Cup race to date. In Bansko he started at the 2007 European Biathlon Championships . In the individual, he reached 35th place, was 51st in the sprint and 38th in the pursuit race. At the 2007 Military World Ski Championships in Estonia , he was 63rd in the sprint, 15th in the team standings and 13th with the military patrol. A year later he reached 36th place in the sprint in Hochfilzen, was 13th in the team classification and 19th with the military patrol. A few days earlier Suciu took part in the Open Balkan Biathlon Championships 2008 in Băile Harghita , where he won the bronze medal behind Bulgarians Vladimir Iliev and Krassimir Anew in the sprint. Suciu celebrated his greatest international success at the Summer Biathlon European Championships 2008 in Bansko. With Simona Crăciun , Réka Ferencz and Alexandru Tişcă , he won the bronze medal in the mixed competition behind the relays from Russia and the Czech Republic.
