Claudius Franz

Claudius Franz (* 1982 in Dachau , according to other sources in Munich ) is a German actor .

Life

Claudius Franz first attended acting workshops at the Münchner Kammerspiele with Stephan Zinner and Paul Herwig in 2002/2003 . From April 2005 to March 2007 he completed classical acting training at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Hamburg . During his training he performed at the Hamburg Theater Academy. There he also worked in Molières Don Juan , the diploma production by director Felix Rothenhäusler .

Following his studies, Franz received a contract as a trainee (April 2007 to August 2008) at the Thalia Theater Hamburg , where he was then a permanent member of the ensemble until 2009. At the Thalia Theater he played a. a. the roles of Gregorio / Balthasar in Romeo and Juliet (2007–2009; director: Andreas Kriegenburg ), Mike in Saved by Edward Bond (2008; director: Jette Steckel ) and Wilhelm Kahl in Before Sunrise (2008–2009; director: David Bösch ) .

In the 2009/10 season he appeared at the Deutsches Theater Berlin as Acaste in Molières Der Menschenfeind in a production by Andreas Kriegenburg. From the 2012/13 season until 2014 he was a permanent member of the ensemble in the Schauspiel am Theater Bremen for two seasons . There he played u. a. the roles of Bendix Grünlich / Morten / Leutnant in John von Düffel's stage version of Buddenbrooks by Thomas Mann (2012-2014; director: Klaus Schumacher ), Justin in Die Affäre Rue de Lourcine by Eugène Labiche (2012-2014; director: Felix Rothenhäusler), Franz Moor in Die Räuber (2013–2014; director: Felix Rothenhäusler) and the drum major in Woyzeck (2012–2014; director: Klaus Schumacher, music: Tom Waits ).

Franz also took on several roles in the cinema and on television. In the movie Berlin am Meer (2008) he played the exmatriculated medical student Mitch. He also had episode roles in the television series Krimi.de (2009; as party drug dealer André, at the side of Rick Okon ), Da comes Kalle (2011; as a stoner and petty criminal Fritz Knoop), cheerful to fatal: Hubert und Staller (2012 ; as Philip Lange, who is suspected of being a friend of an Eastern European prostitute) and Die Rosenheim-Cops (2014; as a suspected electrical salesman Tobias Paringer).

In November 2017 Franz was seen again in an episode role in the ZDF series Die Rosenheim-Cops ; this time he played the suspect mountain biker and treasurer Moritz Reinhard.
