Claudius Hermann Bojunga (also: Klaudius Bojunga ,) (born August 4, 1836 in Leer (East Friesland) , † April 28, 1913 in Hanover ) was a German lawyer and Hanoverian local politician .

Claudius Hermann Bojunga was the father of Klaudius Bojunga and grandfather of Helmut Bojunga . The daughter Johanna married the politician Ernst Brandes .

Career

Claudius Hermann Bojunga studied from 1856 to 1859 law at the Universities of Goettingen , Heidelberg and Berlin . After his preparatory service, he settled as an independent lawyer from 1864, still under the Kingdom of Hanover , in the then royal seat . After Bojunga was appointed as the Prussian Higher Court Attorney in 1870 , he was appointed Judicial Councilor in 1890, and finally to the Privy Councilor in 1907 .

Meanwhile, Bojunga had also become active as a local politician: from 1889 to 1907 he was initially elected to the office of district chairman, from 1891 to 1902 he also held the office of word holder , i.e. head of the entire council of citizenship officers in Hanover . As such, in 1895, for example, he signed the resolution to rebuild the Holy Spirit Monastery . The expertise and advice of the Privy Council of Justice were so valued that Bojunga was finally appointed a senator in 1907 .

In addition, Claudius Hermann Bojunga held numerous honorary positions , including chairing the Geographical Society of Hanover and chairing the Association for the History of the City of Hanover .
