The Clyde River is a 18 km long river in the Canterbury region of the South Island of New Zealand .
geography
The Clyde River is formed by the confluence of the Frances River and the McCoy Stream . Its initially south-south-east course is accompanied by the mountain range of the Cloudy Peak Range in the west and the Froude Range , the Armory Range and the Jollie Range in the east. On its last section west of the Potts Range , the Clyde River flows south and together with the Havelock River forms the Rangitata River . In addition to numerous creeks and streams , the Sinclair River and Lawrence River are the only tributaries of the Clyde River .
