The United States Coast Guard Academy ( USCGA to dt. "Academy of Coast Guard of the United States") is a training facility for cadets of the United States Coast Guard (USCG). The university is based in New London in Connecticut on the east coast of the USA .

The Corps ( Corps of Cadets ) has regimental strength and is divided into eight companies , each consisting of about 120 cadets .

The story goes back to 1876 . Head is a superintendent of the US Coast Guard Academy , and Rear Adm. J. Scott Burhoe has been the 39th incumbent as of January 5, 2007 .

Curriculum

The sail training ship Eagle , the only still in use tall ships of the US Armed Forces

The cadets regularly achieve the academic degree at a successful conclusion Bachelor of Science.
