The Coburg Summer Operetta was an open-air operetta festival that took place every summer on the Waldbühne Heldritt near Bad Rodach ( Upper Franconia ) and since 2018 on the Seebühne Bad Staffelstein .

The registered, non-profit association Coburger Sommeroperette eV was founded in April 1994 by Wolfgang Krautwig, Klaus Lapins († March 20, 2007), Bernhard Maxara and other people. Reinhard Schmidt was the musical director until 2010, and Ivan Boldog took over in 2011. Production management was held by Klaus Lapins for many years; after his death in 2007, his widow Daniela Pfaff-Lapins took over the management. This year's performance of the bird dealer was directed by Bernhard Maxara. From 2008 to 2010, the director was Prof. Dr. Horst Zander , in 2011 again Bernhard Maxara, 2017 Ulrich Cyran and 2018 Gernot Kranner. From 2008 to 2018 Adelheid Frankenberger was responsible for production management.
