Cocurès was a French commune with 190 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lozère department in the Occitanie region . The mountain village belongs to the municipality of Bédouès-Cocurès and is about 600 meters above sea level.

The municipality of Cocurès merged with Bédouès to form the Commune nouvelle Bédouès-Cocurès on January 1, 2016 . Since then it has been a commune déléguée and the location of the Mairie .

geography

It is located in the southern Massif Central in the natural landscape of the Cevennes . The highest mountain in the Cevennes, Mont Lozère is located about 15 km northeast of Cocurès. The village is located high above the upper reaches of the Tarn River .
