Come Early Morning - The road to me is an American film drama from the year 2006 . Directed by Joey Lauren Adams , who also wrote the script.
action
Lucy Fowler works for a construction company near Little Rock . On the weekends she meets with men whom she visits in their apartments. Her roommate, Kim, admonishes her not to just think about sex.
Lucy takes care of her father, who returns to the hometown and only gets along well with her. She starts a relationship with newly arrived Cal Percell, with whom she falls in love.
Reviews
Kirk Honeycutt wrote in The Hollywood Reporter on January 24, 2006 that the film tells a simple story. He does this with so much conviction, sensitivity and instinct for the truth that he radiates tremendous emotional power. The reviewer wrote that Joey Lauren Adams had real storytelling talent and hoped she had more stories to offer. The critic also praised Ashley Judd, who embodies " perfectly " a southern woman.
Todd McCarthy wrote in Variety magazine on January 26, 2006 that the film looked partly like a " therapeutic exercise ", partly like a homeland film, which was the genre to which most American independent films belonged decades ago. Despite the efforts of Ashley Judd and the other " generally talented " actors, it does not offer anything exceptional.

Joey Lauren Adams was nominated for the 2006 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Award. She won an award from the Memphis Indie Film Festival in 2006 and the Women in Film Crystal Award as a director .
