Historical development

The community association has its origins in a SIVOM that was founded in 1979 and converted into a district in 1987 . Following a decree of December 14, 2000, the Communauté de communes des Deux Buëch , then consisting of ten member communities, was founded on the same day . On November 27, 2008, the Manteyer community was added. In 2014 the community association was expanded to include the Commune nouvelle Dévoluy and renamed the Communauté de communes Buëch Dévoluy .

With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association merged with the Communauté de communes du Haut-Buëch and thus formed the successor organization Communauté de communes Buëch-Dévoluy . Despite having the same name as the previous organization, it is a start-up with a different legal personality.
