The Communauté de communes de Bitche et environs ( German community association Bitsch and its surroundings ) is a former community association ( Communauté de communes ) in the Arrondissement Sarreguemines in the Moselle department of the former Lorraine region . Its administrative seat was in Bitsch .

history

On December 23, 1994, the SIVOM de Bitche was transformed into what would later become the Communauté de communes de Bitche et environs .

At the end of 2009, the community association merged with the Communauté de communes du Pays du Verre et du Cristal and the Communauté de communes de Volmunster and thus formed the new Communauté de communes du Pays de Bitche .

Thus, the community association comprised all communities of the then canton Bitche with the exception of Goetzenbruck , Lemberg , Meisenthal and Saint-Louis-lès-Bitche , which all belonged to the Communauté de communes du Pays du Verre et du Cristal as well as the communities Lambach and Siersthal of the canton Rohrbach -lès-Bitche .
