The Communauté de communes de Gémozac et de la Saintonge Viticole is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It was founded on December 26, 1995 and comprises 16 parishes. The administrative headquarters are in Gémozac . As a result of a change in the canton name in 2015, the association of municipalities was renamed from its original name Communauté de communes du Canton de Gémozac et de la Saintonge Viticole to the current name.

Historical development

The community association was founded on December 26, 1995 by originally 15 members. On January 1, 2013, the municipality of Thézac was added.

location

The community association is south of the city of Saintes and west of Pons ; it belongs to the historical cultural landscape of the Saintonge .

From about 5 to a maximum of 72 meters above sea level. d. M. extending landscape has a slightly undulating profile.

climate
