The Communauté de communes du Canton de Chalamont is a former French association of communes with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Ain department , the administrative seat of which was in Chalamont .
The community association consisted of eight communities and had 7,062 inhabitants (as of 2013) on an area of 158.1 km 2 . When it was founded at the end of 1994, its layout corresponded to that of the eponymous canton of Chalamont , which was dissolved in 2015. Jean-Pierre Humbert was most recently president of the community association.
tasks
The competencies required included developing and promoting economic activities and tourism. The association operated the road maintenance service and garbage collection. He assumed responsibility for household waste disposal as a member of Organom , a superordinate special-purpose association active in the Arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse. In addition, the association built and maintained facilities in the fields of culture and sport.
Historical development
With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association was merged with the Communauté de communes Chalaronne Center and the Communauté de communes Center Dombes to form the successor organization Communauté de communes de la Dombes .
