The Communauté de communes Center Dombes is a former French association of communes with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Ain department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . Its name refers to its central location in the Dombes , a lake landscape south of Bourg-en-Bresse . The community association founded on April 9, 2002 consisted of 13 communities and had 15,758 inhabitants (as of 2013) on an area of 228.7 km 2 . It had its seat in Villars-les-Dombes , last president was Michel Girer.
tasks
The competencies required included developing and promoting economic activities and spatial planning based on a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . In addition, the community association operated the road maintenance service and waste management.
Historical development
With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association was merged with the Communauté de communes Chalaronne Center and the Communauté de communes du Canton de Chalamont to form the successor organization Communauté de communes de la Dombes .
