The Communauté de communes du Pays de Hanau is a former French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region . It was founded on December 13, 1999 and consisted of 19 parishes. The administrative seat was in Bouxwiller .

Historical development

With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association merged with the Communauté de communes du Pays de La Petite-Pierre and thus formed the successor organization Communauté de communes de Hanau-La Petite Pierre .

The name of the community association was derived from the fact that all of its former communities were in the former county of Hanau-Lichtenberg .

Worth knowing

A friendly relationship without a formal sibling was entered into with the city of Hanau ( Hesse ) in the 1960s . It is maintained from there by the Hanauer Kulturverein eV, the partnership association Hanau eV and the Hanauer Geschichtsverein 1844 eV.
