The Communauté de communes du Valromey is a former French association of communes with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Ain department , whose administrative seat was in the city of Champagne-en-Valromey .
The community association consisted of twelve communities and counted 4,076 inhabitants (as of 2013) on an area of 239.0 km 2 . Alain Bertolino was last president of the community association.
history
The Communauté de communes du Valromey came into being on January 1, 2002 with expanded competencies from a collaboration that had existed since the early 1990s. Between 2002 and 2006, the competencies were expanded several times. Since the accession of the municipalities of Talissieu and Grand-Abergement (on November 24, 2009) and Lompnieu et Songieu (on July 1, 2010), the association of municipalities encompassed a contiguous geographical area. In the course of the reorganization of several municipal associations in the Ain department, the municipality of Artemare resigned on January 1, 2014 and switched to the municipal association of Bugey Sud . With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association was dissolved and its communities integrated into the Communauté de communes Bugey Sud .
tasks
In addition to the competencies required in the areas of economy, tourism and spatial planning, the community association also took on environmental protection and the construction and maintenance of school buildings and facilities for looking after pupils outside of class.
