The plateau of the Plateau de Retord has developed into a popular winter sports area in recent decades. Thanks to its large area, it is primarily geared towards Nordic skiing , but there are also some short downhill slopes near Les Plans-d'Hotonnes (municipality of Hotonnes), which are accessed by several ski lifts.

The village is located off the main thoroughfares on a departmental road that leads from Hotonnes to Nantua. Further road connections exist with Le Petit-Abergement, Brénod and via the Plateau de Retord with Châtillon-en-Michaille.
