Conconully is a small town ( town ) in Okanogan County in the US state of Washington . At the United States Census 2010 Conconully had 210 residents.

history

Conconully was officially recognized as a local authority on November 11, 1908 . It was originally named Salmon City after nearby Salmon Creek . In the beginning it was a gold rush camp.

geography

According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of ​​0.8 km², which does not include water. The city is framed by two separate reservoirs; the United States Bureau of Reclamation built the Conconully Dam in 1911 and the Salmon Lake Dam in 1921 .

2010 Census

As of the 2010 census , Conconully had 210 residents, 103 households and 63 families. The population density was 261.5 per km ². There were 189 housing units at an average density of 235.4 per km².

The population consisted of 91% white , 0.5% African American , 2.4% Indian , 0.5% Asian , 3.3% other "races" and 2.4% two or more "races" . Hispanics or Latinos of "any race" made up 5.7% of the population.

Of the 103 households, 13.6% had children under the age of 18, 55.3% were run by married couples living together , 2.9% by single mothers and 2.9% by single fathers; 38.8% were non-families. 31.1% of the households were singles and 7.7% were single people over 65 years of age. The average household size was 2.04 and the average family size was 2.49 people.

The median age in the city was 55.1 years. 12.4% of the population were under 18, 5.6% between 18 and 24, 11.9% between 25 and 44, 43.4% between 45 and 64 and 26.7 65 years or older. Of the residents, 51.9% were men and 48.1% women.

Census 2000

As of the 2000 census , Conconully had 185 residents, 94 households and 53 families. The population density was 324.7 per km ². There were 192 housing units at an average density of 337 per km².

The population was 96.22% white , 3.24% Indian , and 0.54% two or more “races” .

Of the 94 households, 13.8% had children under the age of 18, 47.9% were run by married couples living together , 6.4% by single mothers; 42.6% were non-families. 31.9% of the households were singles and 12.8% were single persons over 65 years of age. The average household size was 1.97 and the average family size was 2.43 people.

The median age in the city was 52 years. 11.9% of the population were under 18, 3.8% between 18 and 24, 21.6% between 25 and 44, 32.4% between 45 and 64 and 30.3 65 years or older. For every 100 women there were 107.9 men, for those over 18 years of age it was 103.8 men for every 100 women.

All information on median income relates to the median. The median household income was US $ 23,214 compared to US $ 24,750 for families. Men had a median income of US $ 29,167 compared to US $ 22,000 for women. The per capita income was US $ 16,168. About 17.5% of families and 18.7% of the total population lived below the poverty line ; this affected 21.7% of those under 18 and 0% of those over 65.
