Continental O-280 (name of the US military ) is a series of six-cylinder boxer engines from the US manufacturer Continental Motors consisting of the C115 , C125 and C140 .
construction
The engines have outputs of 115 PS (85 kW), 125 PS (92 kW) and 140 PS (103 kW). The C115 was built from 1945 to 1951, the C125 from 1945 to 1952 and the C140 from 1945 to 1946. The C125 uses the same crankcase as the Continental O-300 , but differs in piston stroke , compression and the carburetor nozzle . He also has a camshaft of cast iron and hydraulic tappets .
