Copterline (also Copterline Offshore ) was a Finnish airline based in Helsinki and based at Helsinki-Malmi Airport .
history
Copterline was founded in 1960 as Copter Action or Helikopteripalvelu . In 2000 it got its current name.
in 2004 over 75,000 passengers were carried. The service, which was discontinued on June 22, 2006, was resumed between March 25, 2008 and December 19, 2008.
After a change of ownership, the company resumed regular service in 2008, but ended it again in December of the same year. The number of passengers - not least due to the economic crisis - did not meet expectations. Since January 2009, Coperline has focused on rescue flights and flights to the drilling rigs from its bases of operations in Oulu , Vaasa and Joroinen . On August 12, 2013, Copterline resumed regular service on the Helsinki – Tallinn route.
Services
Copterline mainly offered helicopter flights to oil rigs . In addition, were medevac - and SAR flights performed.
fleet
As of April 2017, Copterline did not have its own helicopters . In the past, AgustaWestland AW139 , Bölkow Bo 105 , Eurocopter EC135 P1 and Sikorsky S-76 C + were used.
Incidents
- On August 10, 2005, a Sikorsky S-76 C + ( aircraft registration OH-HCI ) crashed into Tallinn Bay on Copterline flight 103 from Tallinn to Helsinki near Naissaar Island due to a servo failure. All 14 inmates were killed.
