Corinna Werwigk-Hertneck (born November 23, 1952 in Stuttgart ) is a German politician of the FDP / DVP and a lawyer in Stuttgart. She was Minister of Justice and Commissioner for Foreigners in the state of Baden-Württemberg . Corinna Werwigk-Hertneck is a Protestant , married and has two sons and grandchildren.

education and profession

From 1972 to 1977 she studied law in Kiel and Tübingen. After her legal traineeship in Stuttgart, she has been working as a lawyer since 1981 .

She is a specialist lawyer for family law and inheritance law and a partner in the Werwigk & Partner law firm, which is based in the city center of Stuttgart.

She was and is an active member of various professional organizations, e. B. on the board of the Stuttgart Bar Association, in the German Lawyers' Association (DAV, Working Group on Family Law, Working Group on Inheritance Law) and in the German Association for Inheritance Law and Asset Succession (DVEV).

Political activity

In 1996 Corinna Werwigk-Hertneck was a candidate for the office of Lord Mayor of the state capital Stuttgart for the FDP, of which she has been a member since 1984. In 1997, Baden-Württemberg was elected to the FDP state executive committee. Two years later, in 1999, she moved into the municipal council of the Baden-Württemberg state capital Stuttgart for the FDP and also became deputy parliamentary group leader.

In 2002, Minister President Erwin Teufel appointed her to the Baden-Württemberg cabinet as Minister of Justice. In addition, she took over the office of integration officer for the state government. From July 2004 she was deputy state chairwoman of the Baden-Württemberg FDP . On July 22, 2004, she resigned from her government office after the prosecution opened an investigation into her. She was accused of having the summer of 2004 in several phone calls Economics Minister Walter Doering announced details of the investigation against him. On September 27, 2007, the Stuttgart Regional Court sentenced Ms. Werwigk-Hertneck to a year imprisonment for revealing official secrets. The sentence has been suspended.

Since 2003 she has been chairwoman of the FDP Federal Committee on Interior and Law.
