Coro Coro is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Coro Coro is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Coro Coro and the administrative seat of the province Pacajes . The village is located at an altitude of 3980  m on the Bolivian Altiplano , about seventy kilometers as the crow flies southeast of Lake Titicaca .

Coro Coro is located in the Bolivian highlands between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east. The region has a distinct daytime climate, with mean temperatures fluctuating more during the day than during the year.

The annual average temperature of the region is 7 ° C (see Coro Coro climate diagram), the monthly average temperatures fluctuate only slightly between just under 4 ° C in July and a good 8 ° C in December. From Caquiaviri a dirt road leads over thirty kilometers in a south-easterly direction to Coro Coro . The Arica – La Paz railway runs past Coro Coro from Chile to the Bolivian metropolis.
