The Municipio Coro Coro (also: Corocoro ) is a district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Coro Coro is one of eight Municipios of the Pacajes Province and is located in the northeastern part of the province. It is bordered by the Municipio Calacoto to the southwest , the Municipio Callapa to the south, the Province of Aroma and the Municipio Waldo Ballivián to the east, the Municipio Comanche to the north, and the Municipio Caquiaviri to the northwest .

The municipality comprises 100 localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is Coro Coro with 1,853 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the central part of the district.

geography

The municipality Coro Coro is located at an average altitude of 4000  m south of Lake Titicaca on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east.

The region has a distinctive time-of-day climate, with temperatures fluctuating more during the day than during the year.
The mean annual temperature in the region is 7 ° C (see Coro Coro climate diagram), the monthly mean temperatures fluctuate only slightly between just under 4 ° C in July and a good 8 ° C in December.
